Electro/Mechanical Design Drafter
The candidates should be fluent in AutoCAD and possess experience in creating and modifying 2D drawings of both a mechanical and electrical nature, in a Department of Defense environment. The candidates will have light to moderate design tasks assigned to them, will be required to document designs generated by others, and will be required to generate Engineering Change Notices. Knowledge of ASME drafting standards and Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel) is required.
Experience with Solidworks, to the extent of being able to create drawings from models generated by others, is highly desirable, but not an absolute requirement. In the case where a desirable candidate does not possess Solidworks drafting experience, a willingness to learn will be sufficient.
Successful candidate must be very familiar with Systems Engineering and Development environments, preferably within the Training and Simulation industry. Is responsible for the development, maintenance and analysis of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP), developing the network/project work flows for scheduled activities, and to ensure Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) are accurately defined, and monitored. Must ensure that the critical path, project risk and trending analysis, project scheduling structures, adhere to best practices.
The incumbent must be capable of providing highly visible and comprehensive management reports for projects of varying contract types, sizes, complexity, and levels of risk. Incumbent may be required to develop and deploy custom tools, reports, forms, charts and interfaces to other software applications as required.
Duties
- Participate in regularly scheduled engineering and program management meetings.
- Assist in gathering information needed to define project activities, task descriptions, and to validate project resource requirements.
- Display a comprehensive understanding of risk assessments and critical path analysis.
- Develop and finalize the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) structure.
- Maintain IMS baselines, and schedule histories.
- Must be able to manage multiple IMS / IMP concurrently
- Resource Load IMS and validate manpower planning, ensuring that they are accurately aligned to support task & resource requirements.
- Must communicate effectively with Cost Account Managers, and be able to evaluate and map costing information to the IMS.
- Develop, update, and provide analysis of the Integrated Master Plan (IMP), and Organizational Breakdown Structure (OBS) on demand.
- Provide accurate and timely Integrated Master Planning (IMP) reporting, and risk management assessments.
- Develop, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of IMS documentation and reporting.
- Submit (monthly) CDRL, VAR, Resource, Baseline Budget versus Actuals and, ETC/EACs reports.
- Track and follow-up ongoing project plans, MS Project charts, graphics, generate cyclical schedule summary reports.
- Develop PowerPoint presentations which support project plans.
- Maintain ongoing interaction with counterparts to validate data from various Cost Account Managers and engineering staff members.
- Develop Schedule Risk Assessment Analysis
- Develop Schedule Analysis using DCMA 14-point assessment techniques and other schedule metrics
The successful candidate will have a minimum of six (6) years of Program Planning & Scheduling experience. Must have strong planning and scheduling skills, including critical path analysis.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated Microsoft Project experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or similar business process.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Integrated Product Development System (IPDS)
- Demonstrated knowledge in assisting Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in planning, scheduling and cost estimating tasks
- Demonstrated experience with MS Office suite and Microsoft Project software tools.
- Must be diplomatically persuasive or assertive as necessary to maintain IMS
- Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
Required Education:
Bachelor Degree from an accredited university or college in Electrical/Mechanical/Systems or other engineering disciplines or sciences or a Business Administration/Management related major.
Level 2 Manufacturing Technician
The manufacturing technician is responsible for the fabrication of electrical components as well as some mechanical assembly. This individual should also have the technical experience in the use of electronic tools and the capability of reading system schematics and electrical schematics. Preferably this individual should have a back ground in flight simulation which involves systems in control loading, motion systems, flight controls. This individual should be able to acquire a secret clearance. This individual should also be capable of traveling with expenses paid by the individual that will be reimbursed by the employer.
The following provides a brief description of the requirements of manufacturing technicians.
- Level 2 Technician – This position requires knowledge of reading electrical schematics, fabrication of cable assemblies, interconnect panels, soldering skills, which is in conformance with IPC-610 standards.
Responsibilities: Research, write, and produce deliverable technical publications for ASI products. Organize and compile Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) Manuals for submittal to the customer in accordance with specifications.
Work Products: Technical publications including operation and maintenance manuals, preventive maintenance systems, instructor utilization handbooks, COTS manuals, and other ILS/configuration documentation as required by the contract. Products are accurate and in compliance with contractual requirements.
Business Value: Products are contractual deliverables that support the overall program objectives. Accurate, well-produced publications provide the end-user with the information they need to support the product. This results in satisfied customers, which advances ASI’s reputation and increases business.
Qualifications: Requires a two-year degree in a technical field or at least five years experience with technical publication writing conforming to military-specifications. Qualifications include the ability to collect, research, organize, and synthesize material from inspection of systems, engineering documentation, and oral discussions with personnel responsible for trainer systems. Must be able to understand and follow contractual requirements. Requires the ability to establish and follow schedules, and budget time across multiple projects and publications. Must be proficient in word-processing programs, primarily MS Word.
