Electrical Design Engineer

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the electrical design and mechanical packaging of simulated aircraft equipment. It includes power distribution design, I/O distribution design and interfacing various avionics and trainer equipment through MIL-1553, ARINC-429, Ethernet and other communication mechanisms.


The Electrical Engineer also specifies procured hardware and works closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure successful technology solutions. They interfaces closely with the CAD group to produce the drawings necessary to build the trainer electrical components. They participate in customer meetings including requirement reviews, design reviews and acceptance testing.

 Job Requirements:

      • Ability to read electrical schematics.
      • Solid foundation in electrical engineering principles
      • Must be able to solve packaging issues in cabinet and cockpit layouts.
      • Must work closely with other engineering disciplines in the development of products and processes.

Education Requirements/Preferences:

      • BSEE or equivalent experience is required. Combination of education and experience consistent with our assigned grade level.
      • 2-5 years’ experience
      • Excellent communication skills, ability to deal with customers at all levels.
      • Very good organization and time management skills in order to support multiple projects in parallel.
      • Must be able to work in a team environment, or independently, as necessary, and be a self-starter who will attack designs and resolve problems effectively and efficiently.
      • Strong attention to detail and good interpersonal and teamwork skills.

      • Needs to be able to work in high pressure situations and meet demanding schedules.
      • Must be a US Citizen, and able to obtain a Department of Defense Security clearance.

Physical Demands:

      • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced dynamic environment.
      • Fluent in English.
      • Required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.
      • Required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
      • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
      • Available to perform travel from time to time.
