ASI Celebrates 40th Anniversary

Tampa, FL (December 18, 2023) – Forty years ago, on December 20, 1983, Joe Fernandez established Aero Simulation, Inc. (ASI) to support local Government contractors utilizing his expertise in Flight Dynamics modeling. During its initial decade, ASI expanded to a dedicated team of six, all specializing in flight simulation. In 1993, the company marked a significant milestone by securing its first prime contract with the U.S. Navy, followed by contracts for the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Marine Corps in 1995.

Since then, ASI has experienced remarkable growth, now boasting over 250 employees across nine U.S. locations, and training devices located in several countries around the world. The company's portfolio has diversified and expanded, including the development of new simulators ranging from small mixed reality boat trainers to large full flight simulators, as well as providing modification, maintenance, and logistics services for more than 500 training devices.

“The work we have done and continue to do has benefited so many people, especially the warfighters,” said Mike Conti, ASI’s President and CEO. “We are developing revolutionary training systems that push the envelope in both technology and life-cycle costs. Our customers benefit significantly from our extremely competent teams, high-quality processes, and efficient, cost-effective execution. We are really excited to continue our 40 years of excellence in developing the future of simulation and training.”

Today, ASI’s team is comprised of highly skilled professionals, is enthusiastic and ready to seize new opportunities and challenges in the years ahead. The company celebrates past achievements and is looking forward to continuing their legacy of innovation and excellence in defense and security training. Although 40 years seems like a long time, ASI is just getting started making their mark in the industry!
