Quality Assurance Technician

Job Description:
  •  Perform incoming inspections for count and condition, dimensional checks, visual   inspections, part comparison, etc.
  • Transfer electronic assemblies to engineering for test.
  • Generate and monitor failure reports.
  • Perform failure analysis when required.
  • Perform vendor survey to audit vendor’s capabilities, processes, quality system, etc. to determine suitability for performing specific out-sourced work.
  • Perform source inspections on product at vendor’s facility when required.
  • Generate Material Deficiency Report (MDR) when material is rejected.
  • Attend material review board when required by MDR.
  • Initiate supplier corrective action request when supplier quality is undesirable.
  • Review work order routing for proper inspection sequence.
  • Perform in-process work order inspections for dimensional checks, continuity checks, marking, workmanship, etc.
  • When assigned, review drawing release package for quality criteria such as finish, tolerances, standards, etc. and for determination whether the item can be made as depicted on the drawing.
  • Assist with data entry into Microsoft Access production database and web-based work-flow applications.
  • When assigned, review drawing change notices.
  • Assist with audits of the quality management system.
  • Issue or respond to returned material authorizations.
  • Maintain calibration status of inspection and test equipment.
  • Assist with metrics collection and evaluation of QMS.
Job Requirements:
  • Detail & process oriented.
  • Knowledge of mechanical/electrical build and assembly processes.
  • Proper interpretation and application of Quality standards.
  • Ability to perform data entry and use Microsoft Office products.
  • Interact well within a team environment.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Secret level security clearance with the Department of Defense.
  • Candidate must be able to work in small confined spaces (simulator cockpits)

  •  Ability to multi-task in fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Required to communicate in English.
  • Required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.
  • Required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Available to perform travel from time to time.
