Transport Delay Test Kit (ADS800300-01)

ASI has developed an intuitive and user friendly Transport Delay Test Kit that allows data collection from a simulator to measure the inherent time delays in processing a signal through the various computers and software packages.  The main use of the test kit will be to measure the transport delay (also called system dynamic response or latency) of a flight trainer from pilot input to pilot cueing outputs.  However, the design of the test kit allows it to be used on many different types of simulators (airplane, helicopter, tank, ship, crane, car, etc.).

The system will measure the time between the input (user control movement) and outputs (primary source of attitude, visual system response, and motion system response).  The generic ASI Transport Delay Test Kit will be configured with two accelerometers, two photocells, and four (4) analog inputs.  One of the accelerometers would be mounted to the primary control to measure the start of the test and the second one used to measure movement of the motion system.  One of the photocells would be pointed at the visual display to measure a change in the visual scene.  The second photocell would be pointed at the primary display to measure a change in the aircraft attitude.  The four analog inputs can be used to collect other data as required.

In addition to the sensors, the kit will include a USB data acquisition module, the required cables, documentation, and digital media containing the software, all packaged in a compact hard sided case.  The software will collect and analyze the data to provide a PDF results document displaying the raw data collected and PASS/FAIL grading based on a specified time requirement.  The software can be installed on any Windows 8 or higher PC with one USB 2.0 or higher port.  The system can be easily configured to collect all the data required for your needs.
