Tampa, Florida (February 2016) – Aero Simulation Inc. (ASI) is pleased to announce its latest contract award, the Surface Fire Fighting Trainer Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)/ Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) System Program. Awarded by the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division, the program directly supports the U.S. Navy’s Surface Warfare Officer School (SWOS) Engineering Learning Sites in Norfolk, Virginia; San Diego, California; Mayport, Florida; and Great Lakes, Illinois. These trainers provide capability for surface sailors to conduct basic and advanced live-fire and get-wet damage control team training under a full range of operational situations. The trainers are the Advanced Firefighting Trainer (FFT) (Device 19F1B San Diego and Norfolk), Basic FFT (Device 19F3B San Diego and Norfolk), Multi-purpose Shipboard FFT (Device 19F3C Great Lakes), and Aviation FFT (Device 19F4A San Diego, Norfolk and Mayport),
The program requires the refurbishment, integration, testing, and delivery of the control systems to provide a new technology baseline for these devices.
“ASI is pleased with our team’s ability to provide this new and improved technology update for the Surface Fire Fighting community” said Dr. Michael McCarthy, ASI’s President. “Our proposed solution offered the best value for the U.S. Navy, and clearly provided the foundation for this contract award. We’re excited to continue our work developing great training solutions in partnership with the Navy and look forward to our successful upgrades of these important devices.”
