Tampa, Florida (23 May, 2016) – Aero Simulation Inc. (ASI) is pleased to announce the award of the T-1A Ground Based Training System (GBTS) Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) and Training System Support Center (TSSC) contract. Awarded by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Simulator Division, the program provides support for 16 Operational Flight Trainers (OFTS) and 14 Avionics Part Task Trainers (APPTs) located at Randolph, Laughlin, Vance, and Columbus Air Force Bases (AFBs) and Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola. The five (5) month contract comes with five (5) one-year options and is valued at approximately $15.5 million.

The program requires a team of highly skilled technicians to maintain the complex training devices at each location. The ASI team will also have personnel at Randolph AFB and NAS Pensacola to provide training system hardware and software updates, concurrency management, and obsolescence analysis as part of the TSSC.

The T-1A simulators provide support for instrument training, low-level flight and formation training, and navigation training for the T-1A Jayhawk aircraft which is used in the advanced phase of specialized undergraduate pilot training for pilots selected to fly airlift or tanker aircraft. The Jayhawk is also used at NAS Pensacola to provide training for Combat Systems Officers.
