Job Description:  

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the electrical design and mechanical packaging of simulated aircraft equipment. It includes power distribution design, I/O distribution design and interfacing various avionics and trainer equipment through MIL-1553, ARINC-429, Ethernet and other communication mechanisms.  They also specify procured hardware and work closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure successful technology solutions. They interface closely with the CAD group to produce the drawings necessary to build the trainer electrical components. They participate in customer meetings including requirement reviews, design reviews and acceptance testing.

The Entry Level Electrical Engineer will be trained to use their engineering education to facilitate the designs described above. They will generally be assigned to a senior engineer for mentoring during the first year of on the job training.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to read electrical schematics. 
  • Solid foundation in electrical engineering principles.
  • Must be able to solve packaging issues in cabinet and cockpit layouts. 
  • Must work closely with other engineering disciplines in the development of products and processes.

 

General Qualifications:

  • BSEE or 3 Years Simulation experience in an EE role is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to deal with customers at all levels.
  • Very good organization and time management skills to support multiple projects in parallel.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, or independently, as necessary, and be a self-starter who will attack designs and resolve problems effectively and efficiently.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail and good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Needs to be able to work in high pressure situations and meet demanding schedules.
  • Must be a US Citizen, and able to obtain a Department of Defense Security clearance.

  • Required to talk and hear.
  • Required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.
  • Required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Candidate must be able to work in small confined spaces (i.e. simulator cockpits).
  • Fluent in English.

Work Environment:

  • The work environment is primarily a traditional office.
  • Occasional working environment includes the manufacturing floor or simulator installation site where the noise level may increase to moderate or high. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
