ASI was competitively selected by Lockheed Martin to replace and correct tuning for the Control Loaders and Seat Shakers on both WST and OFT trainers used in support of Sikorsky Flight Test Pilot simulators at Kirkland AFB.
Customer: Lockheed Martin Information Systems
User: U.S. Air Force Aircrew Training & Rehearsal Support (ATARS) Program
ASI was selected by Lockheed Martin to upgrade the U.S. Air Force (USAF) HH-60G WST and HH-60G OFT as part of the ATARS program. The purpose of these upgrades was to improve the fidelity of the training systems to provide required aircrew training and mission rehearsal capabilities located at Kirtland AFB, NM. The HH-60G WST and HH-60G OFT training devices provide training and rehearsal support for the Special Operations Forces.
ASI performed the evaluation by extracting quantitative simulator automatic flight fidelity testing results and performing detailed analysis and comparison of existing flight criteria data to simulator data, especially in the regime of high/hot/heavy where flight regimes are most dangerous.
The four control loading channels were upgraded from Servos and Simulation to Moog for the OFT and from Fokker Hydraulic to Moog for the WST to provide best response and feel for the users.
This contract included the design, development, manufacturing, integration, and test of a high fidelity control loading system and a dynamic seat shaker system. These systems provide the trainee with the force, feel, and feedback consistent with the operation of the HH-60G helicopter in all flight and ground operations.
The following HH-60G systems were developed and/or integrated by ASI:
