ASI was selected by NAWCTSD to provide two APTs for the U.S. Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1), Quantico, Virginia, to conduct initial training for conversion to the VH aircraft, and proficiency training to maintain currency and skill level. These APTs enhanced the training associated with executive transport operations, cockpit familiarization procedures, Emergency Procedures (EP) checks, aircrew coordination training, and instrument and NATOPS checks.

ASI designed, developed, produced, installed, integrated, and tested these devices. This included fixed base trainers housed in transportable, climate controlled enclosures. All cockpit functions, avionics, aerodynamics, flight controls, audio system, visual system, and automatic test system were provided.
