ASI successfully completed the retrofit of the first Reconfigurable Flight Training Device (RFTD) in Norfolk VA to add two new C-2A simulations to the trainer.  The four configurations available now include: E-2C Hawkeye 2000, E-2C Hawkeye 2000 with CNS/ATM, C-2A NP2000, and C-2A NP2000 with CNS/ATM.  Reconfiguring the device from one configuration to another takes less than 1 minute.  The upgrades were gladly received by the customer including several fleet pilots.  This device provides VAW-120 and the Fleet commands with the capability to train students on the various configurations without the high cost of using the Full Flight Simulator or the aircraft.  This is especially important for the E-2C CNS/ATM pilots as they do not currently have a Full Flight Simulator with CNS/ATM.  The team will now concentrate on installing the second RFTD in Atsugi, Japan.
