ASI’s Automated Test Lab for Aerodynamic Systems (ATLAS) is a modular software solution designed to test and optimize the flight dynamics and engine performance of flight training devices. Built with an intuitive and user-friendly graphical interface, ATLAS streamlines the qualification process for training simulators, ensuring compliance with the highest industry standards, including FAA Part-60 Level-D.

Comprehensive Flight Simulation Testing

ATLAS replicates pilot actions by manipulating both primary and secondary flight controls during simulated flight test events. The system records and analyzes flight and engine responses, comparing them against real-world aircraft flight test data. With automatic trim control, ATLAS ensures that simulator conditions precisely match recorded aircraft states before initiating test events.

ATLAS supports both static and dynamic testing, allowing engineers to validate performance using the same input controls as a pilot in real-world scenarios.

Accurate, Repeatable, and Automated Analysis

ATLAS generates detailed test results in multiple formats, including:

  • Tabular reports

  • Cross plots

  • Time history plots

  • Seamless Import of Flight Test Data – Compare simulations with real-world performance.

  • Advanced Trimmer Components – Designed for fixed-wing, rotary-wing, and VTOL aircraft.

  • Self-Calibrating Test Case Trims – Reduces time-to-trim on successive runs.

  • Synchronous Host Communication – Ensures repeatable, accurate testing.

  • Dynamic Test Summary Dashboard – Tracks test progress with color-coded indicators (white: pending, green: pass, red: fail).

  • Minimal Host Intrusion – Streamlines implementation on new devices.

  • User-Controlled Parameters – Adjust settings on a global or per-test basis.

  • Automated and Manual Test Execution – Provides flexibility in testing workflows.

  • Comprehensive Reporting – Save and export test results in graphical formats and PDF reports.

Tests can be executed multiple times, with each iteration displayed in distinct colors, enabling engineers to compare results as they refine the simulation model. The software also offers automated scoring (Pass/Fail) and graphical error tolerance bands for quick and precise analysis.

Key Features of ATLAS

Seamless Integration & Expert Support

ATLAS comes with configuration files that tailor the software to specific flight training devices. Integration and setup can be handled by qualified aerodynamics engineers using the User Manual, or ASI’s expert engineers can provide on-site setup and training.

Licensing and Pricing

ATLAS is a COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) software product secured by a validation dongle containing the license key. During initial development, the license key is unrestricted, with the dongle required for operation. Once fully licensed, the dongle removes watermarks from results without requiring a system restart or cybersecurity configuration changes.

  • Software Pricing: $36,250 (6 Months ARO)

  • Installation Options:

    - Customer-led setup

    - ASI-supported setup (Firm Fixed Price or Time & Materials)

    - Optional training services

    - Flight test data reduction and formatting (additional service)

With ATLAS, ASI delivers a cutting-edge, reliable, and efficient solution for flight simulation testing, empowering engineers with the tools to enhance training device performance and ensure compliance with industry standards.
